JAUR Low-Res image

This isn’t the glamorized tale of star-crossed lovers that has been the inspiration of generations of suicide pacts. It is the story of Juliet – who chose love at every turn, who refused to let the anger and impulsiveness of those around her change her heart, who knew what she wanted and went for it with all her might – and the story of her Romeo.

Still, Silent/Fast,Furious : A Clowning Masterclass with Ronlin Foreman

The Drama School, Mumbai prides itself on bringing international standards of theatre to India. And one of the main ways we achieve this is by bringing workshops like this one to theatremakers and performers over here. If you are interested in improvisation, physical comedy, clowning or simply want to learn the virtues of vulnerability in a performance, you cannot afford to miss this Clowning Masterclass by internationally acclaimed performer-director-teacher Ronlin Foreman.

Masterclass Feb 16

About the Workshop:

Consider this a provocative invitation to play dangerously for laughter, joyously in terror, and authentically with each other.

The First Engagement: Laughter

The play for laughter reveals everything about the How and Who. We explore comic  situations and circumstances; duos and  trios – in this first stage, we discover the road to Clown.

The Second Engagement: the Red Nose

Because it is a simple mask that alters our perception of ourselves and requires resilient, buoyant directions toward openness, vulnerability, and the ridiculous – Funny.

The Third Engagement: Character Clown

Here we explore the character based responsiveness that is the mind of Clown – revealing the realms of poignant stillness, absurd logic, surreal conditions and situations, and the possibility of hysterical outcomes.

Dates: 29th Feb, 1st, 2nd Mar

Time: 4.30pm to 9.30pm

Venue: 5th floor, Mumbai Marathi Sahitya Sangh, Kele Wadi, Girgaon, Charni Road East, Mumbai 400004
