From one short workshop and a one day a week commitment at a school in 2008, six years later, Theatre Professionals is now a company that, conducts multiple workshops, teaches drama in over 18 schools in 3 cities, founded The Drama School,Mumbai: a full time certificate course in acting and theatre making and produces plays!

The Foundation Skills in Acting workshop in June

The Drama School, Mumbai presents its Foundation Skills in Acting workshop with Padma Damodaran. 

About Padma Damodaran:
Padma has done MA in Acting from East 15 Acting School, U.K.

She  is an actor, choreographer, writer, and trainer. She was the Programme Head for Professional Training and Development at Theatre Professionals. Her work on the Intensive Drama Program in 2012 was seminal in preparing the programme for The Drama School, Mumbai.

She was nominated for best supporting actress in the play “Rumi: Unveil the Sun” at the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META) in 2008, and in 2013 for her performances in Q Theatre Productions’s “So Many Socks” – nominated for 8 META awards in the  year 2013. She currently acts in Manav Kaul’s Colour Blind, Jaimini Pathak’s The Boy Who Stopped Smiling and Yuki Ellias’s Charge.

About the workshop:
This is a six day intensive workshop to understand the basics of performance using body, voice, and movement, aimed at amateur and aspiring actors.

Dates: 22nd to 27th June 2015
Time: 5.30 pm to 9.30 pm
Fees: Rs. 6000/-
